For the first 6 months of your post you will have a preceptor to help you to develop your confidence and competence in the transition from newly qualified student to autonomous practitioner.
Our rotation programme affords new registrants an opportunity to gain experience across a range of clinical areas. It helps consolidate learning and develop skills. The rotation programme runs over 2 years in 4 x 6month programmes in either medical or surgical directorates.
Training and development
Each clinical area has a bespoke induction programme to help you to familiarise yourself with the new environment and routines. Mandatory training is provided as well as training and development specific to the specialist area.
Many of the clinical directorates have Clinical Educators who provide face to face training and support and develop your practice skills as well as assisting you to reflect on your practice and maintain your revalidation portfolio.
